.President’s/State Trustee Report
  President Prendergast has been continuing correspondence with Sheila Warren (Brother Mike Warren’s spouse) regarding the need for having 85 bullet proof vests shipped to Afghanistan for the Military Trained Police Force. Mike Warren is currently deployed in Afghanistan with our Troops. Brother Mike Warren has asked if the lodge can help with shipping costs.
  Hal McCormick and Dave Hubalik made a motion to table the issue for further study. Question was asked, vote carried to table the issue until next meeting.
  President Prendergast and Treasurer McCormick had attended this year’s Annual FOP Convention in Prescott. President Prendergast presented the attached letter. {Letter Link}
  Next year’s Annual FOP Convention will be held from June 23rd-25th at Buckys in Prescott Arizona. Arizona’s State FOP Board Meeting will be held September 29 in Globe, Arizona.
  Per diem for those members who are designated to attend is: $65 per day, $35 for meals, and $0.485 per mile.

Secretary’s Report
  Secretary John Schaper had invited our guests, Nancy Shimmel and Jim Mann, from the FOP/ALC. Together, with Treasure Hal McCormick, the Lodge will attempt to bring all member up to date with their dues. Specifically, attempting to have the City of Tempe pay the ALC directly, reducing the constant verification of accountability of membership dues.

  Mayor Hugh Hallman, also our invited guest, attended the meeting. Mayor Hallman advised he was preparing for reelection and was respectfully seeking our endorsement. Mayor Hugh Hallman has always been a friend of our Lodge. Discussions of this matter will be discussed at September’s meeting. While at the meeting, Mayor Hallman was able to answer many questions from our individual members regarding various City of Tempe issues. You can visit Mayor Hugh Hallman’s web site at www.electhugh.org

President Prendergast advised we had received a check from the State for $325.45, our share of the Law Enforcement License Plate money paid to the State when members buy them for their vehicles. The check was turned over to the Treasurer.
